The ASTRON GROUP Association continues the opening works at the Druzhkiv clay quarry of the Vesko enterprise. According to the deputy head of the logistics and excavation department, Vladyslav Fitsky, the work is in full swing. In the last 24 hours alone, 20 thousand tons of soil have been removed. The work is being carried out around the clock.
“We have significantly increased the volumes,” says Vlad. “And all this is thanks not only to good specialists, but also to the new modern equipment that has arrived at the quarry.” According to Vladyslav Fitsky, a mine survey was carried out before the start of the work. Mine surveying of the quarry is necessary to study the extracted space, the condition of the quarry sides and its bottom, and even control the available reserves. In addition, with the help of mine surveying, you can observe the condition of the mining areas and monitor the condition of the working sites and the boundaries of mining operations to ensure the safety of workers.
“We transport about 9 thousand tons of loam per day. By the end of the year, we have to remove three million tons. Loam is a clastic rock. Today, the quarry operates eight SCANIA dump trucks, two DOOSAN excavators, and a SEM motor grader. New CATERPILLAR bulldozers are planned to be supplied,” says Vlad.
“At first, the work was difficult, the soil was very wet, as a result of which the bodies stuck and had to be cleaned every couple of walks,” says mining foreman Ivan Varchenko. Of course, this caused labor productivity to drop. But now we have moved to dry areas, and things are going well! Just yesterday we set a record – we removed 12 thousand cubic meters of soil per day!”.
It should be noted that work at the quarry is carried out around the clock. At night, under the light of headlights and the moon. Before the morning shift, drivers undergo a thorough medical check-up. Only after that does a medical worker give permission to work. Drivers live in a dormitory and are transported to their workplace by a comfortable Mercedes bus.
